The  EU's Falsified Medicine Directive ?

If you are active in the pharmaceutical industry, you should be aware of the new FMD.

The NEW FMD will enter into effect in February 2019 to fight falsified medicine across Europe. In order to comply with this new directive, all players within the industry must be able to read 2D barcodes.

Under the FMD all new packs of prescription medicines (from February 2019) are required to have two safety features: a unique identifier and an anti-tampering device.
